Warning for heavy to very heavy rain in seven districts on July 4

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) – Hyderabad Center – has declared seven districts of Telangana under orange and eight under yellow for Saturday.

Seven districts of Telangana were forecast to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday. Heavy rainfall may affect eight more districts.

Orange alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) – Hyderabad Center – has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall (orange alert) at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Peddapalli districts on Friday.

Yellow alert

The IMD has issued a yellow warning predicting heavy rainfall as very likely at isolated places in Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Medak and Kamareddy districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 km/h) are very likely in all districts.

Hyderabad Forecast

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds (30-40 kmph) were very likely in and around parts of Hyderabad in the next 48 hours, according to the IMD weather forecast on Friday afternoon. “Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively. Surface winds are likely to be westerly/southwesterly with wind speed around 08-10 kmph,” the press release said.
