Officers of Kerala Water Authority (KWA) are about to visit the neighborhood in Chittoor, which have been facing acute lack of drinking water in the last few weeks. The inhabitants of the Samikalam in Chittoor said that around 40 houses in the number eight CHERALLOOR GRAMA Panchayat are winding under the crisis for more than a month. KWA representatives visited the area on Friday (September 12) in an effort to solve the problem and are scheduled to return on Monday (September 15).
According to the inhabitants, this problem began after the annual cessation of maintenance KWA 7 August. “There was no disturbance four days after the maintenance work. However, water supply was soon affected. Since then, we have faced acute drinking water deficiency,” said Saju Thomas, resident.
Another resident, Tiju Antony, added that the neighborhood depends on the freight costs that Panchayat has organized in the last few weeks.
Sasi VK, member of the department number eight, claimed that only a few houses were influenced. “The tension pipes were laid a few years ago and are buried several feet below the ground. KWA will look back on Monday,” he said.
The Kwa official pointed out that there was an expansion between supply and demand for drinking water. “The population has increased, but the water supplied does not have a permanent solution would be a new drying water. Since the samikalam lies on the tail of the corporation supply network, the water pressure is naturally lower,” the clerk said.
He added that the disruption was caused by the air blocking in the pipeline, which prevents normal flow. “Once the trapped air is cleaned, the water will flow freely,” he said. The official also added that the residents at the number 12 chittoor faced a similar problem recently, which was solved.
