The Union Government Plan to detect the UMEED to digitize the process of registration for WAQF real estate throughout India has encountered the expected criticism of Muslim bodies, in particular the Council for Personal Right for the whole India, which plans to question the Supreme Court’s step.
The Board of Directors claims that at a time when the Supreme Court is considering a petition calling the WAQF law (amendment) 2025, such a step is equal to contempt. The UMEED portal, as is claimed, is based on the recommendations of the law.
The judgment reserved
The Supreme Court, as noted, has heard several petitions against the WAQF law, including the many Muslim bodies, and reserved its judgment for the final hearing last month.
“The Waqf 2025 Act is currently considered in the Supreme Court. Most Muslim organizations have refused. Opposition parties, human rights organizations, as well as Sikh, Christian and other minority communities, also declared unacceptable.
The Board of Directors appealed to the State Council, in addition to ordinary Muslim citizens to refrain from registration of WAQF real estate on this portal until the court has been judging its judgment. “It looks like a step towards implementing the WAQF law through the rear doors,” the official of the board of directors said on condition of anonymity.
Aimplb is afraid that the Government, through the UPEED portal, the abbreviation for the united WAQF management, authorization, efficiency and development, seems to record that it announces greater transparency and better WAQF real estate management. The provision was warmly questioned in the Supreme Court.
Real Estate Registration
By the way, the UMEED portal is to register the WAQF properties and its aim to integrate them into a centralized digital platform. The portal will be elaborated according to the provisions of the WAQF Act (amendment) and will require all WAQF properties to be registered within six months of its start. Registration is said to be a long -term process that requires comprehensive details of real estate.
In addition to detailed instructions on the property registration process, the Ministry of Minority, according to which the portal will operate the portal. However, AIMPLB claims that if it is implemented, any WAQF assets can be registered on the portal, and the community can even lose ownership of it.
“The registration is entirely based on the disputed law that has been attacked in court and marked as unconstitutional. Therefore, Muslim personal rights are being built.
