Sanjay Raut’s leader (UBT) on Saturday (April 5, 2025) claimed that the head of the central and Maharashtra BJP was in contact with the side of Uddhav Thackey, who was looking for their support for adopting the WAQF.
Mr. Raut claimed that the government brought legislation to bring corruption to the legal framework and grabbing 2 lakh crore land for “expensive industrialists BJP”.
He claimed that BJP pushed the Naveen Patnaik led by the Biju amber until the last moment to support the account in Lok Sabha. Although BJD was against the bill, he did not issue any whip to his members and asked them to vote according to their conscience.
“They did the same with us, but we disagreed. Until the last moment, the leaders of the BJP from Maharaštra and Delhi were in contact with Shiv Sena (UBT),” said Rajya Sabha member.
The bill was not approved by a huge majority and the government did not even receive 300 votes. “Our character (opposition) would increase, but some of our members were not even sick,” Raut added.
Rajya Sabha passed through the law on Thursday (April 3, 2025) in the evening, the day after Lok Sabha gave a disputed bill, which was strongly against the unified opposition.
