The Indian Social Democratic Party (SDPI) welcomed the interim Supreme Court judgment on the WAQF 2025 law, but says that the Top Court’s instructions will not fully save the religious rights and dignity of the Muslim community.
In his statement on Monday, the State President of SDPI Abdul Majed said that the party welcomes the WAQF real estate protection instructions from any expropriating and remain a five -year clause for Islam.
However, he said that the temporary order would not completely save the religious rights and dignity of the Muslim community because only certain provisions of the law remained.
Among the provisions that still represented the threat to the existence and continuity of WAQF, the “link of the Act on Restrictions and the Limited Act.
Majeed, who claimed the petitioner in petition No. 445 on the WAQF 2025 Change Act, reiterated that WAQF was a sacred confidence and religious law of the Muslim community. “Any dilution of its essence is unacceptable. SDPI will continue its legal, social and democratic struggle until all provisions are canceled against the WAQF and the WAQF is fully protected,” he added.
