Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who called for a collective effort to develop sustainable waste management procedures, said Kerala can become a model of the world in these practices.
He spoke after the opening ceremony “Vruthi 2025: The Clean Kerala Conclave”, a five -day national conclave, which showed the success of Kerala in the field of waste management and planned future projects organized by local government. Two Harith Karma Sena staff – who returned a piece of gold they found to the landfill – handed over the ceremonial lamp to the main minister to start this event.
“Despite the main progress we have made in the waste management sector – especially after the start of the Malinya Muktham campaign – there are few people who perceive waste treatment plants with great security.
He said that from the beginning of the campaign a total of 1,330 material collection (MCF) and 19,721 mini collection equipment were set up. A total of 192 resources renewal centers and 17,032 bottles were also established. In the last year, Harith Karma’s hay (HKS) staff gathered 61,664 tonnes of waste from the whole state. HKS is currently choosing a waste from 89 lakh houses.
The Minister of Local Municipalities of the MB Rajesh, who chaired this position, said the government must overcome the harsh calls to carry out various steps in the Malinya Muktham campaign.
“When the fire in the Brahmapuram plant became a campaign catalyst, Kochi had no MCF or mini MCF. The government considers HKS to be its army for hygiene.

The Kannur district won the prize for the best performance in the implementation of Malinya Muktam campaign, while Kozhikode and Thrissur appeared in second and third place.
