During the meeting, the commissioner explained the duties of the returning officers, the duties of the staff working under their supervision, the arrangements for the counting tables, the procedure for counting votes and the guidelines to be followed by the counting staff. He instructed each employee to perform their assigned duties responsibly during the counting process.

He said that a total of 450 counting tables have been set up to count the votes within the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation limits. Necessary desks and staff have been deployed at counting centers covering Vijayawada East, West and Central Assembly constituencies.

Counting of votes in Vijayawada will begin on November 3 (Tuesday) at 8 am at Andhra Loyola College. Ballot boxes would be brought from safes to counting centers in the presence of representatives of political parties.
