Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation took a real estate tax of 38.65 GBP for the financial year 2024-25, which exceeded the previous financial year (2023-24) collection of 35.17 GBP. In order to facilitate the collection of real estate tax from the population, special corporation counters worked until midnight on Monday.
Municipal Commissioner Vizianagararam Pall Nallanayya said Hindu on Tuesday morning, a special effort to collect real estate tax for 2025-26, while the government offers a 5% discount for timely payment. He said, “Tax money is used to improve civic equipment in Vizianagararam.” With the expansion of the city, more funds are required to improve the connection of roads, street lighting, water facilities and other equipment, he added.
Mr. Nallanayya urged all taxpayers to clean their fees and make payments for a new financial year. He said: “VMC focuses on collecting arrears on water. In 2024-25, the company collected CRORE 1.93 GBP compared to 1.38 GBP Crore in 2023-24.”
