Vizianagaram Municipal Contractors Social Security Association President Bangara Raju, Honorary President Panangapalli Ashok and other members on Saturday (November 15, 2025) called off their 12-day protest demanding payment of outstanding dues. District Commissioner P. Nallanayya, who had earlier promised to settle pending bills worth ₹17 crore in phases, gave specific assurances to the members after which the strike was called off. Addressing a media conference here, Mr. Ashok said that speedy clearance of bills would enable contractors to start new works and development activities in the city. Representatives of the Andhra Pradesh State Building Contractors Association (SABCA) welcomed the decision of the Vizianagaram contractors and asked the officials to process all pending bills within a few months.
