VIT will organize a vegetable and seed festival in Vellore on June 28

A traditional vegetable and seed festival will be held at the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) campus in Vellore on June 28. According to a press release, the festival, organized by Isha Yoga Centre, will bring together seed conservationists, organic farmers, agricultural scientists, entrepreneurs and urban growers focusing on traditional seeds, chemical-free cultivation and farmer prosperity. It will also be a major knowledge sharing platform with expert talks, successful farmer stories, a major exhibition and the Seed Guardian 2026 Awards.

The event will be chaired by G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT, in the presence of Shankar Viswanathan and Sekar Viswanathan, Vice Presidents, VIT. More than 2,500 participants are expected at the event.

The main attraction of the festival will be the exhibition which will have more than 100 stalls of traditional seeds, natural farm products and value added products. Pre-registration is required for the event. For registration and enquiries, contact: 83000 93777, the release said.
