VIT organizes GST 2.0 Summit to strengthen tax compliance

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, in association with the Vellore branch of the South India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), organized the GST 2.0 Summit at its Vellore campus on Wednesday.

According to a press release, the summit titled ‘Navigating Compliance and Enhancing Growth’ was aimed at creating awareness about recent developments in Goods and Services Tax (GST) and promoting proper compliance practices among students, professionals and industry representatives.

More than 100 industry professionals and 1,100 students in Vellore and surrounding districts participated. The summit served as a driver of insights, connecting students with domain experts and strengthening the academic and industrial ecosystem of Vellore.

The event was inaugurated by P. Rajendra Kumar, Chairman, Committee on GST and Indirect Taxes, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi, in the presence of DP Suresh, Deputy Commissioner, GST and Central Excise, ICAI (Vellore).

There were also special sessions on career opportunities in taxation and finance, which offered students hands-on exposure to career paths in indirect taxation, the report said.
