
Students from VIT Chennai who demonstrated “Computer Vision Application for Railway Infrastructure Inspection” won third place at the Exceed 3.0 Campus Challenge, an inter-university competition where participants showcase innovations and solutions related to the railway industry.
They shared the place with Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Pune, which proposed “Safe Siding of Trains”, and VIT Bhopal was adjudged the top winner. Organized by Wabtech Corporation, a global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions and value-added services to the freight and transit rail industry, the event was attended by about 500 students from 70 institutions, comprising about 150 teams. The top three finalists won a total cash prize of Rs. 2.75 million.
