Minister of the Interior of the Union and BJP leader AMIT Shah arrived at Pune on Friday (April 11, 2025) in the middle of the boiling of tensions in the ruling Mahayuti alliance of the unresolved Minister of the Raigad district. The main Minister of Devendra Fadnavis accepted Mr. Shaha upon his arrival.

On Saturday, Mr. Shah is scheduled to visit the Raigad fortress, where he will pay floral honors at the King Maratha Warrior King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He then heads to Sutarwadi for a lunch meeting in the residence of State President NCP and MP Raigada Sunil Tatkare. The invitation was personally extended by Mr. Tatkareo and received by Mr. Shah.
The visit assumes political importance because Raigad continues to be bone between the alliance partners – Shiv Hyreh (Eknath Shinde Fraction), BJP and NCP (Fraction Ajit Par). The dragging war began in January after the Deputy Chief Minister Shinde protested against the additi of the Tatkare NCP-Decraři Mr. Tatkare-Byl appointed by the Minister of the District. He escalated the problem and forced Mr. Fadnavis to detain meetings for Raigad and Nashik.
While the leader of Shiv Sena Bharat Gogawale imposed on Raigada, NCP claims to have a stronger case after already admitted Nashika Girish Mahajan Bjp. With Nashik set up for hosting 2027 Kumbh, BJP wants to keep over the district management to ensure smooth implementation of critical infrastructure projects.
“He (Amit Shah) will mediate a compromise between alliance partners,” Hindu’s leader said.
Mr. Shaha itinerary includes participation in the events of Gujarati Weekly Platinum Jubilee in Mumbai, followed by strategic discussions with BJP officials.
