The Chief Minister of Pinaraya Vijayan said that the serious financial crisis, Ockhi Cyclone, the flood back and the Covid-19 pandemic could not rent a political and administrative determination of the Government of the Democratic Front (LDF) in Vishinjam.
In the article Mr. Vijayan introduced the port of Vishinjam, who Prime Minister Narendra Modi devotes himself to Nation 2. May as a shining example of the progressive culture of LDF administration.
He said the port of Vishinjam launched commercial operations in 2024. Its four -phase expansion was on a fast track and the first phase completed the way for rapid operation of the port.
Mass movement for port
Mr. Vijayan said that the port of Vishinjam was a spiritual child of the 1996 LDF government. In 2010, the central government refused the project. LDF started a mass movement, including the human chain, for the Mega project. As a result, the project approved in 2015 and increased speed when LDF in Kerala in 2016 came to power.
He said that LDF was engaged in livelihood and environmental concerns of the local population and made them participating in the project. Mr. Vijayan obliquely criticized the indications that the port of Vishinjam was the legacy of the central government for Keral. It followed the port of 8,967 GBPs, of which the government invested a bulk share, an estimated 5,595 crore.
Ports Adani invested 2 454 Crore. Mr. Vijayan said that the Central Government promised the Crore 818 GBP as a payable financing gap of the project viability. “However, the state still has to raise any money. Kerala hopes that the center will fulfill its obligation,” said Mr. Vijayan.
The latest technology
Mr. Vijayan noted that Vishinjam was the first semi -automated port in the country. The latest technology accelerated the movement of the cargo, including the loading, unloading and transport of translated containers. Vishinjam boasted the latest traffic management system on the vessels, designed by IIT Madras and Maritime Technology Private Limited.
Mr. Vijayan said that the significant proximity of Vishinjam to the international shipping strips and its deep continental slope, which allowed the mother ships with deep designs easy access, gained a convenient position on the global map of naval trade. In addition, the port has excellent connectivity of air, sea, road and railway.
Rich past for vishinjam
Mr. Vijayan noted that Vishinjam was the only port for translating water in the ground. Most India exports were directed through Singapore, Colombo and Dubai ports. The detour costs the government estimated to be $ 220 million logistic costs. Vishinjam would help the country to state the cost of mammoth for the public treasury.
Mr. Vijayan said Vishinjam had a rich naval past. It has been a naval business since the eighth century and is mentioned in ancient texts. However, the port was lost by time. The LDF government has resurrected Vishinjam’s long forgotten naval past and built it on a new course mapping course.
