Indian cricketer Virat Kohli’s Instagram account has been revived after disappearing overnight on January 30. Kohli, one of the most followed sportsmen in the world, has had his social media account mysteriously disappear. Not only Virat but also Virat’s brother Vikas’ Instagram seemed to have been deactivated overnight.
While Kohli’s account came back around 8:30 am, his brother Vikas remains inactive. There has been no official explanation from Kohli, his team or Instagram whether the disappearance is intentional or the result of a technical glitch.
Virat Kohli’s fans went into a social media frenzy overnight. Reactions ranged from concern to comical disbelief as fans took to the official Instagram account to ask if there was any problem with Kohli’s account.
Some fans even took to Anushka Sharma’s account and asked, “Bhaabhi, bhaiya ka account kahan gaya?”, which roughly translates to “Where has brother’s account gone?”
As speculation swirled, memes quickly took over social media, with users linking Kohli’s disappearance on Instagram to the recent “missing penguin” viral trend. which briefly dominated the internet. The posts joked that 2026 seemed to be the year of unexplained disappearances, pairing screenshots of Kohli’s unavailable profile with pictures of a penguin, suggesting that the two had “gone off the internet without explanation”.
