
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill (X) The Indian cricket team finally landed in Perth in the early hours of October 16 after experiencing numerous delays during their journey. The Shubman Gill-led unit initially reached Delhi airport early on 15 October, but the flight to Australia departed almost four hours behind schedule, causing further rescheduling in Singapore. The team finally arrived in Perth around 4am and checked into a hotel.Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul were among the first batch of players to land in Australia. Tight security at Perth airport meant fans had limited access to the players and those waiting outside the hotel late at night were unable to get photographs as the exhausted Indian stars headed straight for their rooms.

Kohli and Sharma are expected to be the main attractions during the ODI matches, which will mark their comeback after the Champions Trophy where India had an unbeaten run. Rohit Sharma won the Man of the Match award for his 76 innings in the final. Both Kohli and Sharma are now focusing solely on ODIs as they have retired from T20Is following India’s T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados. They also withdrew from Test cricket before the tour of England. After Shubman Gill took over as the ODI captain, Rohit Sharma was relieved of the captaincy duties but will continue as the key batsman. Shreyas Iyer will serve as vice-captain and KL Rahul remains the wicketkeeper and batsman. India’s ODI squad for Australia tour includes Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (VC), Axar Patel, KL Rahul (WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Sirajh, Arshdeep Krishu, Arshdeep Drázing Jurel (WK) and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The team’s focus will now shift to performing in the ODIs before moving into preparations for the T20 World Cup, with all eyes on the experienced duo of Kohli and Sharma leading India’s white-ball charges.
