Virat Kohli returns to India in fun mood, fans turn airport into selfie fest

Virat Kohli returned to India on Thursday, February 12, after spending almost a month in London, and his arrival quickly turned into a moment of celebration for fans at the airport. The former Indian captain was greeted by a wave of excitement as soon as he stepped out and supporters lined up to catch a glimpse of their hero.

Kohli seemed to be in a cheerful and relaxed moodwho took time to acknowledge fans despite the heavy crowd and tight security presence. The star dough filled several selfie requests, smiling and interacting warmly, much to the delight of those in attendance. Videos and pictures of Kohli posing with fans soon surfaced on social media and drew widespread reactions, with several fans applauding his humility and down-to-earth nature.

Kohli’s visit to India coincides with the 2026 T20 World Cup, which is currently being held in the country. However, Kohli is not part of the tournament as he retired from T20Is in June 2024 after India’s triumph in the T20 World Cup. The star batsman scored a match-winning 76 off 59 balls in the final against South Africa, an innings that also earned him the Man of the Match award.

When will Kohli return to action?

Kohli has been in great form in the last few months, scoring 616 runs in the last seven ODI innings. He boasts a phenomenal average of 123.2 and an impressive strike rate of 108.64, with three centuries and as many half-centuries. The star batsman will next be seen in action in the national colors on India’s tour of England for the ODI series in July 2026.

But even before that, he will be seen playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). RCB will enter the season as the defending championswho won the last edition of the tournament after defeating Punjab Kings in the final.
