The Indian cricket fraternity was swept by the news of the virtue of Kohli’s retirement from the test cricket before a tour with a high share. When India is preparing for the beginning of the new cycle of the Test World Championship, the sources confirmed that Kohli had told his intention to BCCI. The development comes only a few days after Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from a cricket with a red ball and left India on the verge of losing two of his most experienced test players at the same time.
In the light of the BCCI reportedly urged Kohl to reconsider his decision. Meanwhile, several former crickets – both Indian and international – applied to emphasize how the vital Kohli’s presence is still in the longest format.
The former teammate of Rayudu urged Kohl to stay and say that India needs his experience and passion now more than ever.
“Virat Kohli, please don’t leave. The Indian team needs you more than ever. You have much more in the tank. The test cricket will not be the same without going out to fight it for Team India. Please reconsider,” he wrote Rayudu.
Navjot Singh Sidhu believes that the timing of leaving Kohli would be wrongEspecially with a severe overseas challenge forward and a relatively inexperienced core of the bats.
“The decision of the Virt Kohli – that he wants to retire – has created a stir across the cricket world. His intention is correct, his motive is noble – that” the old order must change and bring a new place.
Legend West Indies Brian Lara expressed that a test cricket still needs characters like kohliwhose influence exceeds the national borders.
“The test cricket needs a virat !! He will be convinced. He won’t leave the test cricket.
Meanwhile, former Australia captain Michael Clarke supported Kohl to bounce heavily and contribute significantly if he decides to continue.
“I hope the rumors are not true. I believe that the virat still has a lot of test runs in it, and any team is a better team with him,” Clarke RevSportze said.
The timing of potential retirement Kohli increases concerns. With an English tour starting on June 20, and the selection of the team is expected until mid -May, India is facing a key transition period. The test group, the missing Rohit, could be severely left to young people like Yashasvi Jaiswal, SHUBMAN GILL and KL Rahul-all talented, but lack the absolute experience of the red ball that Kohli brings to the table.
After playing 123 tests and scored over 9,000 runs, Kohli’s character remains unquestionable. As speculation continues, the cricket world is now waiting for Kohli to deteriorate again and lead India through what could be in his test history defining the chapter.
