Virat Kohli named in India squad for England ODIs; no place for Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli has been named in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming tour of England after missing the Afghanistan series due to injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Sunday. However, Virat Kohli’s participation in the much-anticipated ODI series is subject to confirmation of eligibility.India will play three ODIs against England at Edgbaston (July 14), Sophia Gardens (July 16) and Lord’s (July 19).Jasprit Bumrah is also back in the ODI setup. The fast bowler was rested for both the one-off Test and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan as part of BCCI’s workload management plan.Kohli suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL 2026 final and was subsequently ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan.All-rounder Axar Patel has returned to the ODI squad after missing the Afghanistan series. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammed Siraj were not included in the squad for the England tour.Gurnoor Brar retained his place in the lineup.
