Virat Kohli has added a new layer to his tattoo collection ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Enter the campaign as an IPL champion for the first time in his career, Kohli has teamed up with Aliens Tattoo to have an ongoing project as a high-value art artifact designed to reflect evolution, depth and personal transformation, according to a press release from the studio.

His left arm, which already has several tattoos that Kohli has inked over the past few years, is being worked on. The studio’s intention was not to erase the previous ones, but to enhance, restore and integrate them into a cohesive story that fits who Kohli is today.
The process began with a redesign of the Shiva-inspired bracelet, bringing back its depth and sharper definition. From there, the design evolves into a detailed dotwork mandala that creates a natural flow across the arm and acts as the central anchor of the sleeve. Together, these elements reflect a sense of balance, discipline and inner balance.
Moving on, the artwork includes motifs such as the lotus and peony – symbols often associated with resilience and growth. The personal meaning of each element was deliberately left unspoken.
WHY IS THE NEW LEFT LAYER INCOMPLETE?
According to the studio, the sleeve was intentionally left incomplete. The studio said the tattoo will continue to evolve with Kohli’s life, with each defining moment, shift and milestone creating room for new layers to be added.
Rather than a tattoo marking a moment in time, it is expected to act as a record of his life experiences and will continue to evolve as time goes on.
Kohli and RCB will begin their title defense against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
