
UTTARAKHAND: Dehradun’s scenic charm was plunged on Tuesday after Cloudbursts and persistent rain caused confusion in the capital of Uttarakhand and nearby areas, swept at least five people and left over 500 more stuck.
Viral videos laid a girl of nature – as the region strengthened heavy rains and left the river there in Spate and Temkeshwar Mahadev temple flooded. Online, stunned viewers dubbed the “most frightening monsoon of Dehradun in years”.
One of the videos showed the entire section of the road collapse, with flood water flowing below it.
The downpour caused extensive damage to roads, houses and shops and even retired the bridge. Officials confirmed that five people were swept by steep waters in various places throughout the city, while 584 people remain imprisoned, PTI said.
At the beginning of the day IMD issued a red warning for Dehradun.
200 rescued; people missing
About 200 children imprisoned on the DevBhoomi Institute in the Paundha area in Dehradun was saved by the SDRF team, said Banshidhar Tiwari, CEO, information.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants of the village of Majhara went to the streets after land landslide hit their homes early in the morning. They said several people still missing after the consequences, PTI reported.

Uttarakhand cm Pushkar Singh Dhami checked the areas of Maldevt and Kesarwal in the District of Dehradun, hit hard with heavy rains and evaluated the situation.
He ordered officials to speed up help and rescue and assure the locals of all help.
