The cordially charming video of the Indian Army, playing cricket with the locals in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian District, wins the heart online.
The clip, widely shared on social media, shows an officer from 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), units known for counter -revolutionary operations in the region, bat against rapid delivery on a provisional field.
The video caused praise from Netizens, many of which praised the army for dealing with civilians and supported good will.
“The Indian Army in Shopian, Kashmir, playing cricket with locals! Bonhomy between Awaam (Public) and Jawan (soldiers) are reinforced in Kashmir. The video soon attracted the attention of the Internet. The user responded to the clip and wrote, “Like cashmere when we see our youth cricket with the army plays as a new chapter. We want peace, we want progress, and that’s a way forward.”
Another user suggested: “We should start organizing cricket matches between security forces (JKP, CRPF, Army, BSF), media and other corporate houses.”
“Nice, local community events should be organized more often, especially for young people,” wrote the third user.

Army terrain through sport
This is not the first time that the Indian army used sport to connect with people from Kashmir. Only last month the strength organized the 11th edition of the Chinar Premier League on the Bipin Rawat stadium in Baramulle, named after the first Indian defense boss.
The tournament represented 64 teams from all over the valley and gave young players the opportunity to show their skills and focus on higher platforms in sports.
