Pakistani television reporter Mehrunnnisa has become a viral on social media for her dramatic flood coverage, and many compared a moment with the iconic clip “Chand Nawab of Karachi”.
The journalist is seen in the video reports from the ship as flood water rises around it. Visibly anxious admits on the camera that he feels the palpitations of the heart and says, “Mera dil yun yun kar raha hai” (my heart does it). At one point he refers to the audience and says, “My heart drops. Guys, please pray for us. I am very unpleasant and scared.”
The shots recorded by her channel on YouTube have now spread to various social media platforms.
Pakistani writer Raza Rumi also shared a clip on his Facebook handle with the title “Next Level Reporting”.
Netizens reacted quickly, and many called it “raw, real and unfiltered”, while others described it as “another moment Chand Nawab”- a link to a Pakistani reporter who became a viral feeling for his sincere message years ago.
The user wrote: “New Meme in the House, People.”
Another user noted: “She is naive and beautiful and at the same time terrible.”
While some have found humor in their unfiltered emotions, others pointed out that the clip emphasizes that journalists face real dangers while covering extreme weather conditions.
Last month, the shocking video took place viral via the Internet, which showed that Pakistani journalists were washed away with raging floods, while on a live broadcast near the Chahan Dam in the Rawalpindi nation. Cool shots show that the reporter neck deep in fast -moving waters, the microphone still in hand, moments before it pulls it out.
Several videos of the same incident across social media show an exact moment when a journalist – allegedly identified as Ali Musa Raza – stood in the water, only his outstretched hand visible until he was drawn into the water.
