Pranati discusses in a viral video that her parents saved ₹50 thousand specially for her wedding. Pranati argues that this approach fundamentally confuses financial priorities. The influencer suggests investing this money through simple SIPs or FDs instead. This could help her buy a property or start a business.

“Imagine if they invested that money for me 20 years ago, even in a simple SIP or even an FD. By the time I’m 25, that money could help me buy a house, start a business, invest in assets and create real leverage,” he says.

Pranati believes that society is wrongly prioritizing marriages over long-term financial security. According to her, families save decades for just one day. Meanwhile, the daughters are not ready for their next 40 years.

“I know weddings are phenomenal, emotional. Celebrate them. But imagine if we celebrated financial independence with the same enthusiasm. Imagine if each daughter got an investment portfolio along with her wedding jewelry. I’ll do it for my daughter. And that’s a legacy that keeps growing,” she says.

Pranati encourages parents and new parents to share her message widely. She suggests that the greatest gift is not necessarily a lavish wedding celebration.

“Perhaps the greatest gift you can give your daughter is not a lavish wedding. It’s financial freedom,” she says in the viral video.

Social media saw strong reactions. Many users have endorsed Pranati’s approach to financial freedom.

“Hope the next Gen normalizes simple weddings,” wrote one.

“No. I’m not saving a dime for my daughter’s wedding. She can have all mine for her education and then she should be old enough to take care of herself. And yes, she DOESN’T have to get married either. Marriage isn’t a necessity. Happiness is,” another user wrote.
