
Police in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, have registered an FIR over an attack on an Indian Air Force personnel and his father by a mob that was part of a wedding procession. According to the complaint, the incident took place on February 19 when IAF jawan Pritham Singh and his father Jitendra Singh, a former government school teacher, were on their way home after attending a social function.
IAF jawan, father attacked
While in Amargarh village under Jahangirabad police station, the father-son duo encountered a wedding party allegedly blocking the road and dancing drunkenly.
Things took an ugly turn when Jitendra Singh blew his horn to let them through. However, this did not go down well with the crowd, who started hurling abuse at them. Things further escalated after the mob attacked them with steel bars and sticks.
The duo reportedly sustained serious injuries and Jitendra Singh claims that he fell unconscious as a result of the attack. They were later taken to a nearby hospital from where they were referred to the district hospital for treatment.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing a large number of men surrounding and attacking the father and son.
What the Police said
“There was a clash between a wedding procession and a father-son duo, one a government teacher and the other an airman, over passage on a street in Jahangirabad. The two sides allegedly attacked each other after a dispute over the route of the vehicle,” said Bulandshahr SP Shankar Prasad.
Based on Singh’s complaint, one person was taken into custody and charged with breach of peace.
