US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is reportedly being called the “Secretary of Everything,” has now added another job to his long list of duties in President Donald Trump’s administration: wedding DJ.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino posted a video on X Saturday (IST) sharing glimpses of Rubio working as a wedding DJ. He wrote: “A MOMENT AGO, BEHIND THE SCENES — Our great Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s weddings DJ too! Tonight he’s in action at a family wedding… Let’s goooooo!!!”

Rubio traded diplomacy for a DJ for a day
In the video, the foreign minister can be seen behind the DJ booth, pressing one earpiece to his right ear while crouching over a laptop next to another man, presumably a hired DJ.
Rubio already wears many hats in the Trump administration, from secretary of state to national security adviser and chief archivist of the National Archives, the New York Post reported. He is the first secretary of state to also serve as national security adviser since Henry Kissinger during the Nixon administration.
The former Florida senator turned the wedding into a lively Miami-style nightclub as guests linked arms and danced together in a circle. It is not clear whose wedding it was.
Rubio had his headphones on, focused intently, and at one point seemed to signal the DJ to pick up the pace.
Reaction on social media to Rubio’s DJ act
The clip has since gained traction online, with many users pointing out the contrast between Rubio’s high-profile political positions and his surprise appearance behind the DJ console. In response to Rubio becoming a DJ for a day, a user called him “Best Secretary of State in my lifetime!” Another user wrote: “What can’t Marco Rubio do?”
A third user called him a jack of all trades, and several others wondered if they could call Rubio to perform at their wedding.
Rubio denied taking the head coach, the Miami Dolphins general manager
Despite wearing many hats in the Trump administration, the secretary of state said in January that there is one job he won’t volunteer for, at least for now. Rubio said he would not be a head coach or general manager candidate for his beloved Miami Dolphins, who fired Mike McDaniel after four seasons in charge.
Trump is known for DJing at his parties
He’s not the only one spinning tracks or at least DJing at the White House. Trump is also known to DJ at his own parties at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The US president is known to have a penchant for tunes, but the song he is most associated with is YMCA by the Village People. He has often called the song “the gay national anthem” and is known to dance to the disco classic.

Trump recently said his wife, Melania Trump, is not a fan of the moments, adding: “She hates it when I dance to what is sometimes called the gay national anthem … she goes … ‘honey, please don’t dance. It’s not presidential.’
