Days of IndiGo flight disruptions have left passengers stranded at airports across the country, leading to chaotic scenes and heated arguments with airline staff. Videos of angry passengers shouting at IndiGo staff have flooded social media, highlighting mounting frustration over continued delays and cancellations.
Amidst the outrage, actors Vir Das and Sonu Sood stepped in and urged the flyers to direct their anger at those responsible for the decision and not the ground workers who are already trying to manage the crisis.
Vir Das on X (formerly Twitter) criticized the airline’s top management for letting frontline employees handle the brunt of the public fury on their own.
“Decent thing to do? The entire top management of IndiGo should be forced to take airport shifts… From CEOs to VPs. Instead of scared junior staff with no power, cabin crew and ground staff who had to deal with shouting and screaming,” he wrote.
Sonu Sood also appealed for patience and posted a video asking passengers to treat IndiGo staff with dignity.
“A delayed flight is frustrating, but please remember the faces that are trying to fix it… be nice and humble to the IndiGo staff; they are also bearing the brunt of the cancellation,” he said.
Sood shared that his own family has experienced long delays recently, and acknowledged that many travelers have faced — missed weddings, meetings and events. But he stressed that ground staff are often the last to receive operational updates and have little control over flight schedules.
“It hurt me the most when I yelled at them… They are powerless. They only say what they are told,” he added.
TV actor Aly Goni also echoed similar sentiments on social media, asking people not to hold airline employees responsible for disruptions beyond their control.
The ongoing flight chaos – one of the worst on record in recent months – has sparked widespread frustration across the country as passengers demand better communication and a quicker response. As ground staff struggle with long queues and nervous flyers, pressure is mounting on IndiGo’s top management to take charge and deal with the situation more transparently.
Meanwhile, celebrities and everyday travelers alike are calling for restraint, noting that while the delays are concerning, venting anger at frontline staff only adds to the strain on a team already stretched to its limits.
