Violence marred elections to Tripura The Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) was held on Sunday (April 12, 2026). There were reports of several injuries as members of rival political parties clashed, hurled bombs and attacked vehicles at various locations.
The state election commission and police administration described the poll as “overall” peaceful. Security forces were deployed in strength in sensitive areas and applied moderate force at some places to quell tension and ensure peaceful polling.
