
India All-Rounder Vijay Shankar is reportedly set up to join the northeast clothing for the upcoming home season because he has already ensured a certificate of the objection (Night) from the Association of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
“I got a night from TNCA, but I still have to receive a confirmation from the Tripura Cricket Association.
The Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) official later confirmed the day when Shankar really joins Vihari as one of their professionals for the 2025-26 season. Tripura will perform in an elite division across all three domestic tournaments – Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy – with Vihari expects to lead the party.
Shankar, 34, represented India at 12 ODI and nine T20i, including the 2019 World Championship with Pakistan in Old Trafford. On the domestic market he has been a support for Tamil since his debut in 2012, playing 58 ranji Trophy matches and accumulating 3,142 runs on average 44.25, with 11 centuries and 16 halves. In the cricket list, he has 1,702 runs from 62 trips, while his career T20 brought 1,004 runs out of 47 matches.
All-Rounder enjoyed a powerful campaign with a red ball last season and recorded 476 runs in 52.88, including two centuries. He also ran with 188 runs in the game list, although his trophy Syed Mushtaq Ali campaign was less fruitful with only 83 runs in four matches.
Meanwhile, Hanum Vihari has already confirmed his move to Tripura after he broke up with Andhra. A 31 -year -old man on social media announced that he signed as one of three Tripura experts and will represent them in all formats.
“After consideration, I decided to move to the cricket association, where I will represent the state in all three formats of the game,” Vihari wrote on X, adding that Switch offers him a platform that better corresponds to his aspirations.
Vihari, who made his debut for India in Oval in 2018, is best remembered for his vigil to save the Sydney match in 2021 next to R Ashwin. In 16 tests he recorded 839 runs at 33.56, while his first -class career boasts over 9,500 runs at 49.92, including 24 centuries.
With Shankar, who follows Vihari, the Tripura will have an experienced core of professionals heading for the new season, which could make much more competitive in the Indian domestic circuit.
