Congress on Friday (May 16, 2025) protested in front of Raj Bhavan in Bhopal and demanded the release of Madhya Pradesh by Minister Vijay Shah over his recent inflammatory remarks about Colonel Sofia Qureshi, although the highest BJP leaders claimed that the party would follow court orders.
The delegation of more than 15 congress MLA, led by the leader of the opposition Umang Singhar, called on Governor Mangubhai patel to give him a memorandum and push their requirements. Later the Mla in Black Attires introduced a demonstration outside the Governor’s House.

The fire was filed against Mr. Shah on May 14 for the alleged call of Colonel Qureshi’s “sister of terrorists” of the Pahalgam attack after the High Court in Madhya Pradesh took Suo Moto knowledge of the matter. The court set a four -hour deadline and established sections by which the Minister of the Regular Affairs was to be reserved. The next day, however, the High Court expressed its dissatisfaction over the content of the companies. She stated that the report did not mention the speech of Mr. Shah of May 12, who was evidence and added that she would monitor the investigation.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor of the Chief Minister Jagdish Devda caused another controversy with his statements in Jabalpur on Friday (May 16, 2025) that “the whole country, the army and all staff bowed to the premiere of Narendra Modi” as a result of Sincoor’s operation.
Congress Mla detained
Congress MLA was also briefly detained, and between them and the police staff who tried to remove them from Raj Bhavan, Saren broke out.
“BJP is not with the army, nor is it with the constitution … It’s just his chair! History is witnessing that whenever the government has become dictatorial, the public bit the dust,” Mr. Singhar said after his detention.
Congress chief Madhya Pradesh Jitu Patwari asked why BJP did not take any steps against his two leaders, although the High Court described the notes of Mr. Shaha “the tongue language” and the Supreme Court called them “shameful”.
“Yet, why have no strict measures have been taken against these two ministers? Mr. Patwari asked.
Protests the drama: Mohan Yadav
Meanwhile, the main Minister Mohan Yadav described the protest of the congress as “drama” and accused the opposition party of “disrespect” of the judiciary.
“No matter how much the drama Congress does, the party also knows that the matter is in court and no one is beyond the court. There was a case against the opposition leader (Mr. Singhar). Will Congress demand his resignation?
The main minister also ran for former Prime Minister Indire Gandhi and stated that she had imposed an emergency situation after the High Court in Allahabad declared a judgment against her.
“Congress has also changed the law to the Triple Talaq, which was issued by the Supreme Court. We respect the court’s order, follow any order that the court gives,” added that the government will recognize the court’s decision in the case of Mr Shaha.
Meanwhile, BJP must only initiate formal disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Shah.
