The state government informed the High Court in Kerala that the vigilance department was looking for the prior consent of the government to explore the alleged Benami PP Agreement, the former President of the Kannur Panchayat district.
Pursuant to Section 17a of the Corruption Act, previous government approval is required to carry out the probe into crimes related to recommendations or decisions taken by a state official in fulfillment of official functions or obligations.
A week ago, the High Court sought the instructions of the State Government on a petition that claimed that there was an offer to sabotage the vigilance and the anti -corruption office (VACB) probe into accusations of corruption against Mrs. Wonder.
In his petition presented in front of the High Court P. Muhammed Shammas, Vice -Chairman of Student Union Keral (KSU), he said that the VacB probe was attempted in connection with the alleged “corruption and Benami assets on the melody of the rupees”.
Mr. Shammas, who filed a complaint against VACB six months ago, recently stated that no measures had been taken to the complaint yet and his statement has not been recorded. He argued that the probe was derailed after a high -level political intervention, and said that the former vigilance director Yogesh Gupta, who recommended registration of the case on the basis of a preliminary investigation, was removed from office and later rejected his appointment by the state police chief.
The case was sent for hearing 18 September.
