According to the Tuoi Tre newspaper, 21 survivors were taken to hospital for emergency treatment, including two who were said to be in critical condition.

Condoling the death of 15 Indians in the Vietnam boat tragedy, Prime Minister Modi said, “Deeply saddened to learn of the tragic news of a boat carrying Indian nationals near Phu Quoc, Vietnam. My condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured survivors.”
