Tvisha S. Pandey and Suryansh Choudhry of hosts Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram bagged the top honors in the junior category of The Hind World School Quiz held at the Maharana Pratap Auditorium in Jaipur on Tuesday. The duo’s consistency paved the way to the final shootout round where they answered three out of six questions to have one last hurray.
Cambridge Court World School’s Divit Malik and Manvik Singhal, who had two teams in the six-team final, finished second ahead of their classmates Lavin Jain and Akarsh Purohit.
Meanwhile, Medhansh Vaddadi and Athrav Gautam of Cambridge Court High School triumphed in the senior category. Shourya Mitruka and Jatin Solanki of Jayshree Periwal High School settled for second place just ahead of Aamina Chauhan and Riddhima Gupta of MGD Girls’ School.
If the participation of 150 teams in the junior category was indicative of the popularity of the annual quiz – now in its 24th year – the senior category further boosted the appeal of the event, with 160 teams from 30 schools fighting for first place.
The prizes, which included cups and medals for all the finalists, along with a special trophy for the winning team in each category, were presented by Pradipta Kumar Panda, Deputy General Manager and Circle Development Officer, State Bank of India, Jaipur Circle, the presenting sponsor of the quiz for the last three years in the Rajasthan capital.
