A video purportedly shot from inside an SUV that rammed into a motorcycle in Dwarka earlier this month has surfaced online, showing the moment of the collision that killed 23-year-old Sahil Dhaneshra.
In a post on social media, the motorcyclist’s mother said the 17-year-old driver, who did not have a driving license, was driving “recklessly” and caused the accident near Lal Bahadur Shastri College around 12:00 pm on February 3.
The driver of the SUV was arraigned before the Juvenile Justice Board, sent to an observation home and later released on bail.

A viral video shows a teenage driver swerve and enter a road lined with parked cars on either side, effectively narrowing the lane.
The clip, allegedly shot by the minor driver’s sister, who was also present inside the car, showed a pair of bikes on the other side of the lane crossing the car.
Soon a yellow bus appears in the other lane and as the car and bus are about to cross, Dhaneshra’s bike appears from behind the bus in the SUV lane; and the car and bike collide head-on.
In a social media post, Dhaneshra’s mother claimed that the 17-year-old girl was “riding recklessly” for social media fame and sought justice for her son, though police said the case remains under investigation.

Police said the video is being reviewed as key evidence to determine the sequence of events that led to the crash.
A postmortem report said Sahil died of hemorrhagic shock caused by severe craniocerebral injuries sustained in a high-impact accident.
On February 3, the police registered a case at the Dwarka South police station under sections 281 (reckless driving), 106(1) (causing death by negligence) and 125(a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC.
According to police, the SUV was allegedly driven by a 17-year-old youth who did not have a valid driver’s license. The minor was arrested and brought before the Juvenile Justice Court, which initially sent him to an observation home.
On February 10, the board granted him interim bail citing his ongoing Class 10 exams, police said.
“At the scene of the accident, police found a pile-up comprising the Scorpio SUV, Swift Dzire taxi and the victim’s motorcycle. Sahil was found lying injured on the roadside and was declared brought dead,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said in a statement.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the matter remains under investigation, police said.
Investigators impounded all three vehicles involved and performed mechanical inspections. CCTV footage from surrounding areas was also collected as part of the probe.
The taxi driver, identified as Ajit Singh, sustained injuries and was treated at IGI Hospital. Police said a final medical report on his injuries was pending.
Further investigation into the case is underway, the police added.
