
Six houses were buried and seven people disappeared on Thursday when cloudburst hit Chamoli District on Thursday.
“Cloudburst caused damage to Nandanagar Ghat in the Chamoli district on Wednesday night,” Chamoli Sandeep Tiwari said.
“There are relief and rescue operations,” he added.
Heavy showers ravaged the Himalayan states Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, already on Tuesday bruised by a series of deadly natural calamities.
Cloudbursts and heavy rains left 15 people dead, 16 missing and more than 900 stuck in Uttarakhand, while in Himachal Pradesh three members of the family were killed when rains caused massive landslides and lightning floods.
The SDF and the NDF teams together with the medical team and three ambulances were rushed to the place, said the State Center for Disaster Management.
The flood in the Mokh River also destroyed six houses in the village of Dhurma in the Nandanagar area.
In August, the soil of part of Nandanagar hit the soil and cracks appeared on the walls of the houses. People who live in them had to be moved to safe places.
