After the upcoming Australian tour, Vice President Bccci of Rajiv Shukl canceled the rumors of Virat Kohl and Rohit Sharma. India is ready for a tour in Australia for a three -capacity ODI series and five T20i matches, starting from October 19. Rumors have spread before the series that the upcoming ODI series is the last for veteran dough Rohit and Virat.
Rohit and Kohli have already left T20is and tests and now they will play only 50-over format. However, the news of their retirement was canceled by the shukl, who said their presence would be beneficial for the team during the series. He also mentioned that it was up to the players when they want to retire and say that the upcoming series will be their last, it is absolutely incorrect.
“This is very beneficial for us (Rohit and Virat are in the ODI group). Because both are big bats and in the presence of both I think we will be successful in the defeat of Australia. And when it comes to their last series, it’s nothing like that.
Australia tour will be Rohit and Kohli’s return to the international cricket after the duo announced its retirement from the tests in May. Before the series, the selection committee also appointed SHUBMAN GILL as the new Captain of the ODI party and took over Rohit Sharma, who led the team to victory in the trophy in March 2025.
With the next World ODI Cup, however, the selection committee decided to transfer the cloak lead to Gill to allow him to prepare for mega action.
Meanwhile, before series, Rohit and Kohli arrived in Delhi and fly to Australia together with the team during the Wee Hours of 15th October. India and Australia play the first ODI on October 19 in Perth.
