The objective of selling this set through the cooperative stores was to ensure that the public gets fresh and quality cooking vegetables at an affordable price, lower than the normal market prices, ahead of the Deepavali festival, an official release said.
Mobile sales vehicles
Apart from the 218 cooperative stores across the state, this set of vegetables will be sold through four mobile vending vans in Chennai. The minister also marked these vehicles.

One set per person
Sets will be sold during regular store hours. To ensure that more people benefit from the scheme, the state government has limited the sale to one set per person under the initiative.
Some of the beneficiaries who received the packages from the minister told The Hindu that the scheme was very beneficial at a time of prevailing food inflation and would be especially useful during the festival season. G. Rani, the recipient, said that “the set would have cost more than ₹150 in the market if the items in it were purchased individually.”
