District District and Sessions Court, Monday (July 14, 2025), condemned the convicted history of K. Hemaraj to undergo a strict sentence for pushing a pregnant woman from a moving train near Katpadi in the Velore district.
Judge S. Meenakumari issued a judgment and condemned Hemaraj (27) to undergo a strict imprisonment of life in addition to imposing a fine of 85,000 ₹. The judge also ordered the Ministry of Railways and the Government Tamil Nadu to pay a 50 ₹ Lakh compensation to each survivor.
The compensation should be stored within a month. In its decision, the court also stated that all future expenditures on the survivors, if required, the state government should be fully carried. “A total of 22 witnesses, including the survivors were examined in the case. All accusations filed against Hemaraji have been proven,” said prosecutor (PP) PT Saravanan Hindu.
The police said on February 6, a 36 -year -old pregnant woman was pushed out of a moving train near Katadado in Vellore as Hemaraj’s attempt was resisted to attack her. In connection with the incident, he was arrested by the government’s railway police (GRP), Jolarpet.
The police said that a woman who was pregnant for four months lived with her family in Tiruppur. Due to her pregnancy she traveled to her mother’s house and joined the Coimbatore-Tirupati Intercity Express on that day.
The police said the accused, Hemaraj of Pooncholai near KV Kuppam in Vellore, joined the women’s compartment of the train on Jolarpet. When she was alone in the compartment, he tried to think sexually, she said. When she resisted his attempt, Hemaraj reportedly broke his right hand and pressed it to the entrance. Although she stayed on the handle, she fell after she lost her grip and became unconscious.
The police said the incident occurred around 11:30 near KV Kuppam station. Several railway workers saved a woman who was admitted to a government medical college and a vellore hospital.
The police said the accused had been liberated for a conditional bail a few months ago in the case of a 29 -year -old woman from Chennai in April 2024. He was also accused by the Goondas law twice.
