Sree Narayan Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam General Secretary of Vellappally Naesan faced serious criticism from various parts of society for his comments against the Malappuram district and the Muslim community. Mr. Naked said that Malappuram is a country of a specific community where the backward sections of Ezhava lived in fear without allowing them to breathe freely, and have been denied political and socio-economic freedom.
The Nilambur Election Committee for Youth (Aiyf) filed a complaint against Mr. Natesan with the police against Mr. Natesan for “a deliberate attempt at municipal abyss in society”. The Indian Muslim League of the Union (IUML), the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) also filed complaints about the SNDP Yogam leader. The Indian National League (INL) demanded an action against Mr. Natesan.
The leader of the AP Congress AP Anil Kumar, MLA, said it was high time for the government to initiate legal steps against Mr. Vellappally. “It is a calculated statement aimed at destroying municipal friendship in Malappurama. I wonder why Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan still holds his mother,” he said.
Several organizations, including the Youth Movement in Solidarity and Sreenarayaneey Collective, demand that the chief minister and his colleagues P. Praad, P. Rajeeve, VN Vasavan and Saji Cherian resign from Mr. Natesan’s felicitation to complete for three decades in the SNDP leadership on April 11.
Irrelevant, says iuml
National Secretary -General Indian Union Muslim League (iuml) PK Kunhalikutty rejected Mr. Natesan’s statement as irrelevant and said that he did not receive support from the kitten. “His statement was irrelevant and vicious. The less we talk about it, the better,” he said, adding that the whole society refused it as false.
Inl demanded that Mr. Natesan should be removed from the lead of the Samrakshan Samiti.
Former Secretary General of the state IUML KPA Majed described Mr. Naked as the greatest opportunist he had ever seen. “Mr. Naked should at least ask the leaders and employees of SNDP from Malappuram before he made such a vicious statement,” Mr. Majed said.

Former State President BJP K. Surendran supported Mr. Naked that he said he was right about Malappurama. “It’s a fact. The geography of Malappuram has a unique feature where democracy and secularism do not work,” he said.
