Veligonda, Paleru, Korisapadu projects to get priority in AP budget, says minister

State Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy announced that the state government is taking steps to develop Prakasam district in all major sectors during the 57th formation day celebrations of the district at Prakasam Bhavan in Ongola on Monday.

The Minister along with District Collector P. Raja Babu, Superintendent of Police (SP) V. Harshavardhan Raju, Joint Collector Kalpana Kumari and Mayor Gangada Sujatha paid floral tributes to the statue of freedom fighter Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu. He said that the government is focusing specifically on the development of the district in agriculture, industry, education and infrastructure.

“Apart from the Veligonda project, the Paleru and Korisapadu projects will also be prioritized in the upcoming state budget 2026-2027. Steps will be taken to increase per capita income by setting up Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants in various areas and other industries in Donakonda,” the minister said.

“We are in talks with the central government to resolve the problems of tobacco farmers in the state. Steps will also be taken to widen the road to Bestavaripeta by four lanes. Besides, we are seeking the cooperation of the Center for several road and rail projects in the district,” he added.
