Veeramani produced before a POCSO court for sexually abusing a minor girl in Madurai

The owner of ‘Gem Granites’ R. Veeramani (84), who was arrested for sexually assaulting minor girls under the POCSO Act, was produced before the Judicial Magistrate of the Special POCSO Court in Chennai on Wednesday (October 7, 2026).

The case relates to a complaint of alleged sexual abuse of a minor girl in Madurai with a complaint filed under the jurisdiction of the Madurai Police.

Accused Veeramani was produced before Judicial Magistrate S. Padma, who remanded him to judicial custody till October 21.

Veeramani, who was arrested in several other cases by the Chennai city police, was arrested by the Madurai police and the relevant details of the case were handed over to the court.
