The mining conglomerate of billionaire Anil Agarwal, Vedanta.ltd, almost four times his gifts on the ruling side of Bharatiya Janata (BJP), according to his latest annual report by Bharatiya Janat.
Within the “various expenditure”, Vedanta described in detail the political gifts, as well as expenditure on administration and fees for fees paid by their parents, London-Wanting Resources PLC.

In 2024-25, political gifts were a total of 157 crore, which is up to 97 crore in the previous financial year.
While the gifts of BJP were rising, they were reduced to only 10 crore at the opposition Congress.
Gifts in the fiscal year in April 2024 to March 2025 (FY25) included “contributions to the side of Bharatiya Janata in the amount of 97 GBP crore (£ 26 crore in the fiscal year ending 31. £ £ £ £ 2024: £ 1524: £ 1524: £ 1524: 2024: £ 5 crore) and the whole Indian congress committee of 10 crore (March 31, 2024: 49 crore), ”
Vedanta was one of the greatest donors of political parties.
In the years 2022-23, she donated a total of 155 Crore to political parties and 123 crore in FY22 (April 2021 to March 2022). The recipient-wise, the breakup was not provided for previous gifts.
Through the now skilled election bonds, 457 Crore has donated political parties over five years of their existence since 2017.
Election bonds allowed companies and individuals to donate unlimited amounts to anonymously political parties. Last year, the Supreme Court banned election bonds and called them “unconstitutional”.
Vedanta’s Janhit election trust is one of the more than a dozen of election trusts of hovering businesses for providing gifts to political parties. Other businesses that own election trusts include the progressive election trust of Tatas, the election trust of people in Reliance, Satya’s election confidence of the Bharti group, the Paribart election trust MP Birla Group and the Samai Association for KK Birla Group. Bajai and Mahindra also have election trusts.
On the basis of the Vedant brand fee, the Group has a license and a strategic agreement on services with Vedanta Resources LTD for the use of the “Vedanta” brand and the provision of strategic services that assume a VRL payment ranging from 0.75% to 3% turnover of the company and some subsidiaries.

“As a result, the year ended March 31, 2025, the Group scored 582 Crore (March 31, 2024: RS 477 Crore),” Vedanta said in the annual report.
