Vatika Limited case: ED searches three premises linked to former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda

The Enforcement Directorate has conducted searches at three premises associated with former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda in connection with an alleged real estate fraud case involving Vatika Limited, agency sources said.

On Thursday (September 17, 2026), searches were conducted at Mr. Kanda’s residence, estate and offices in Gurugram.

The action follows an ED investigation into suspected misappropriation of funds raised from investors in four commercial real estate projects developed by Vatika Limited.

According to the agency, investors were allegedly induced to put money into the projects based on promises of early ownership, assured returns, lease and execution of sale deeds. However, despite collecting about ₹248.46 crore from 661 investors, the ownership of the properties was allegedly not handed over and the promised sale deeds were not executed.

The ED is probing the financial trail of funds collected from home buyers and investors and suspected misappropriation of funds. Investigators traced portions of the diverted money to various companies allegedly linked to Mr. Kanda, the sources said.
