Square of St. Petra was transformed into a dazzling scene on Saturday evening because more than 80,000 people were gathered for Grace for the world, a massive concert and a spectacle on the drones that closed the third world brotherhood meeting.
For the first time in the Vatican history, the night sky lit up above the Basilica of St. Peter watched powerful religious and cultural images. The display included Michelangelo’s creation of Adam, Virgin Mary, Pietà, a dove of Peace, a shining heart and even a portrait of late Pope Francis.
The show was introduced by Nova Sky Stories, a company of drones owned by Kimbal Musk, brother of Elon Muska. The organizers said the production lasted almost two years of planning and ensured a rare Vatican approach after the death of Pope Francis and the election of Pope Leo XIV.
The drones were cycled in groups, with charging stations hidden in the Vatican parking areas and along the train tracks.
The final of the Bocelli and Pharrell concert
The High-Tech Light Show followed by a star concert that worked by Andrea Bocelli and Pharrell Williams. The performances included John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Karol G and the Evangelical Corps of Fire voices.
Bocelli opened the evening moving duet Amazing Grace along with American singer Teddy swimming, their voices reflected through Tichý Square before they exploded in a stormy applause.
Peace and Unity Messages
Along with music, global leaders, spiritual and activists issued passionate challenges to peace. The Laureates Kailash Satyarthi and Nadia Murad Laureates, as well as the Mozambic activist Graça Machel Mandel, called for war and violence and called for a greater global commitment to human dignity and fraternity.
The organizers said the event was designed as “unifying the finals and mixes a religious tradition with modern technology before the global audience”.
Support from Pope Leo XIV
Although Pope Leo XIV did not participate, the organizers thanked him for his support. The Pope, who turns 70 on Sunday, allegedly approved the mixing of the sacred heritage with the current artistic expression.
First Vatican
The night ended in a respectful silence when the drones created a shining dove over the Basilica of St. Peter, before she faded into the darkness – a moment that symbolized the closure of the peak and the beginning of a new challenge to unity.
