President Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) GK Vasan on Friday (September 19, 2025) called on the government of Tamil Nadu to reinstall the statue of Mahatmy Gandhi on the Kamarajar market in the Tiruttani district.
A statue that previously stood on Ma.po.si. Salai in Tiruttani was removed a few months ago because it was an obstacle to operation.
In his statement, Mr. Vasan stated that due to repeated dismissal of political parties and the representation of officials, the district administration of the city commissioner ordered to organize a meeting of all parties to decide for a new place. However, no such meeting has been convened.
He called on the authorities to take immediate action and ensure that the Mahatmy Gandhi statue would be restored on the Kamarajar market in Tiruttani.
