Squad against Terrorism Uttar Pradesh (ATS) arrested Tuffail, son of Maqsood Alam and Doshipur, Jaitpura in Varanasi, on accusation of spy for Pakistan, according to an official statement issued on May 22, 2025.
Intelligence and supervision
ATS received credible intelligence that Tuffail was active in WhatsApp groups created by Pakistani organizations with anti-indicial agendas.
The investigation revealed that he communicated with more than 600 Pakistani contacts and shared videos of Maulany Saad Rizvi, the leader of the forbidden Pakistani terrorist clothing Tehreek-E-Labbaik.
These reports included calls for “Ghazwa-E-Hind”, a radical concept defending the Holy War in India, revenge for the demolition of Babri Masjid and imposing the right of Sharia.

Sharing sensitive information
Tuffail reportedly spread the paintings and details of several strategic Indian places, including Rajghat, Namoghata, Gyanvapi, railway station, Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Nizamuddin Auliya, Pakistan’s contacts.
Varanasi residents also spread links to Pakistan-decorated WhatsApp among many individuals in Varanasi, which facilitated the spread of extremist propaganda.

Connections and contacts
Another investigation revealed Tuffail’s contact with a Pakistani woman named Nafisa of Faisalabad, whose husband is allegedly a member of the Pakistani army.
According to police reports, there was a communication between them via Facebook, indicating a wider network of cross -border interactions.

Arrest and legal proceedings
On Thursday, May 22, Tuffail was arrested from Adampur, Varanasi, under Company No. 05/25, registered at the ATS police station in Lucknow, according to sections 148 and 152 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit (BNS).
His mobile phone and SIM cards were confiscated as part of an investigation. It is scheduled to be submitted before the relevant court proceedings.

Pakistani spies arrested in India
Jyoti Malhotra, a 33 -year -old YouTuber of Haryana, was recently arrested for charging of spying for Pakistan.
Jyoti Malhotra, known for her travel vlogs, was reportedly in contact with Pakistani intelligence, including the EHSAN-UR-RAHIM aka Danish, employees of the Pakistani High Commission in the New Delhi, which was excluded at the beginning of this month.

This includes other accused Guzala of Punjab, local charlatan, factory worker, student and security staff, all suspected of passing sensitive information to Pakistan.
Of the 12 arrested, six of the pandjab, five from Haryana and one of Uttar Pradesh. It is assumed that the network has been involved in sharing classified military intelligence information and facilitating the spy activities associated with Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI).
