Rajasthan Royals (RR) coach Vikram Rathhour appreciated the VAIBHAV SuryavANSHi for his “maturity and temperament” during Tuesday’s Clash of IPL 2025 against the five -time Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the ARUN JAITEY STADIUM in the new Delhi.
SuryavANSHI, who chased 188 on the playground friendly to launch, had soon limited opportunities and faced only seven balls during PowerPlay. However, as soon as he settled, he moved with certainty to the gear and reached his half -century in only 27 supplies.
Eventually he made 57 out of 33 balls, hit four and four six before he fell to R Ashwin. SuryavANSHI also shared a 98-Runa stand with captain Sanju Samson and set the foundation for RR is a convincing victory of six goal.
“Very impressive. We’ve been working with him for some time-for three to four months. We’ve seen all these aspects, but it’s great to see him doing it in the game, especially under pressure,” Rathour said at a press conference after the match.
“In a big game as today the ball moved when he walked in. He barely got no vans, he wasn’t too much during the powerplay. But the maturity and temperament he showed were excellent.
“VAIBHAV SURYAVANSHI is very unique”
Rathhour revealed that the Royals Backend team recommended SuryavANShi after the young man impressed 104 out of 62 balls for India U19 in the Youth test against Australia last September at Ma Chidambaram.
“Yes, there’s a team -the Backend team -that monitors all the leagues, watching all the cricket kinds that people play. And they recommended it. He as if he scored that 100 against Australia in U -19s, I think.
“Just out of the decline in his bat – I think he’s very, very unique. I haven’t seen anything like that for a long, long time. And now he shows he has a temperament. He’ll be a very special player,” Rathhour added.
After becoming the youngest debut IPL and the youngest T20 Centurion, VAIBHAV completed a campaign with 252 runs Out of seven matches on average 36 and strike rate 206.55.
