Competition between Bumrah and Sooryavanshi was highlighted as a key duel before the gamewhich was affected by rain and shortened to 11 overs per side. When Bumrah lunged for the second over, Sooryavanshi faced him without hesitation and attacked long on to send the ball for a six. Bumrah missed and offered a delivery in the gap for the young opener who pushed it away from his presence.
A gutsy knock set the tone at the start of the innings and put pressure on the Mumbai Indians bowling attack. Known for his precision and control, Bumrah was taken aback by Sooryavanshi’s aggressive approach.

Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the onslaught in the game with the latter getting 22 off the first over. Bumrah conceded 14 runs in the second and Boult went for 22 in the third. Sooryavanshi got to 39 off just 14 balls before Shardul Thakur provided the breakthrough for his side.
Sooryavanshi’s knock consisted of one boundary and five sixes.
