
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ensured that India’s U-19 World Cup triumph was remembered as much for its celebrations as its cricketing excellence. Soon after India sealed their sixth U19 World Cup titleSooryavanshi came into limelight during an Instagram Live dressing room session. Coming to captain Ayush Mhatre, he revealed that the Indian players went live to celebrate the moment.
Asked how he felt after leading India to the title, Mhatre humbly replied, “Jo bhi hai Vaibhav ki wajah se hai” (Whatever we have achieved is because of Vaibhav), which drew cheers from the crowd. Moments later, Sooryavanshi broke into an impromptu dance to popular Bhojpuri songs, adding a joyous desi touch to the celebrations.

Earlier on Friday, it was Sooryavanshi’s breathtaking century that laid the foundation for India’s dominant victory over England in the final at the Harare Sports Club. The young batsman smashed a sensational 175 off just 80 balls with 15 fours and 15 sixes as India clinched the title with an impressive 100-run victory.

HOW DID SOORYAVANSHI DO AT THE WORLD CUP?
Sooryavanshi proved to be the standout player of the tournament, finishing as India’s top run-scorer and one of the most explosive batsmen on display. The 14-year-old left-hander has amassed 439 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 62.71 and a strike rate of 169.49, with one century and three half-centuries to his credit.
His performance in the final was truly historic. Sooryavanshi posted the highest individual score in the U-19 World Cup final, leading India to an impressive total of 411 for nine. He reached his hundred in just 55 balls and scored the second fastest century in U19 World Cup history and the fastest in the final. His fearless batting sealed India’s dominance and earned him both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament awards.
Caleb Falconer fought valiantly for England in the final, producing a superb 115 off just 67 balls, but his solitary effort was ultimately in vain. However, Sooryavanshi’s incredible knock proved decisive, comfortably eclipsing Falconer’s resistance.
