Ahead of the high-stakes clash, SRH captain Pat Cummins admitted that his team will have several bowling plans in place for the teenage sensation. The 15-year-old opener took IPL 2026 by storm for Rajasthan Royals, redefining fearless batting at an incredibly young age. Sooryavanshi broke several records during the league phase and became one of the breakout stars of the season. In 14 innings, the youngster scored 583 runs at a staggering 232.27, leaving the bowlers searching for answers throughout the tournament.Interestingly, Vaibhav has already faced SRH twice this season. He was dismissed for a golden duck in the first encounter but responded in spectacular fashion with a breathtaking century against Hyderabad in the return match. Although SRH won both their league stage matches, Sooryavanshi’s current form makes him a major threat heading into the Eliminator. And Cummins acknowledged the challenge while talking to JioStar.“It’s always a balance between understanding what you do well as a pitcher and how you’re going to target your strengths. But when there’s probably one or two players in each lineup who can take the game away from the opposition, you spend a little bit more time working on Plan B or Plan C,” Cummins said.
Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi maintain his remarkable performance in Eliminator?
“So yeah, we’ll plan for him. Even though he got a hundred against us last time, I thought there were times when we actually bowled him pretty well and kept him quiet. Other times he ran away from us. So we’ll learn from that,” he added.Pat Cummins also opened up about whether beating Rajasthan Royals twice would have any significance,“Obviously you’re starting from scratch, but you learn from the previous games. We’ve played them twice. We’ve had a good look at a lot of their players. A lot of our guys can look back on those games where they’ve been successful and lean on going to the finals. So it’s always nice to come up against a team you’ve had some success against,” concluded Pat Cummins.
